This study focuses on Prince Eugene of Savoy, an influential military commander of the 17th century of South-east Europe. It examines Prince Eugene of Savoy’s actions against the Ottoman Turks and his views and actions in regard to Austria’s Balkan politics. This study also gives insight into questions regarding the Islam and Christianity, the eviction of the Hungarians from Slavic terrain and the genesis of the Serbian problem.
