This study looks at how the Leibnitzian corpus fared in the eyes of the Enlightenment thinkers until his New Essays on Human Understanding, in which he criticized Locke’s Essay
concerning Human Understanding, and takes a new look at the context in which Leibnitz’s philosophy was received in the 18^th century.
