INCISES DE DISCOURS RAPPORTÉ ET AUTRES VERBES PARENTHÉTIQUES

This study offers a syntactic analysis of so-called parenthetical verbs in French. It questions a large number of widespread assumptions, relying on a macro-syntactic theoretical framework as well as authentic examples. It suggests that the two types of parenthetical verbs should be categorized as a single class.
