This publication deals with big economic crises. Having a good knowledge of these crises is crucial to avoid future crises. \Volume 1 analyses and describes in detail the Great Depression, the severe worldwide economic depression 1929-1940. Other depressions are also taken into consideration. \Volume 2 then looks at the late-2000s recession, more often called the Great Recession, the severe ongoing global economic problem that began in December 2007. How was it possible that the Great Recession affected the entire world economy and what is there to do to avoid future recessions?\
